TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The Sheriff's Department is seeking witnesses who may have seen an officer-involved shooting on August 3.

A deputy was shot during an incident at a Circle K on the Northwest side of town at about 10:55 p.m. during an altercation.

Sheriff's released surveillance photos of four potential witnesses who they would like to speak with about the shooting.

Deputy Tracy Suitt with the Pima County Sheriff's Deapartment tells KGUN9 that deputies from the Foothills District responded to a suspicious person with a firearm at the Circle K located at 4395 N. Romero Road.

Deputy Jesus Davila, who was the first to arrive, entered the store and made contact with the suspicious person, identified as 41-year-old Alvin McBride.

Deputy Davila spoke to Alvin McBride for a brief period when a struggle ensued.

During the struggle, Alvin McBride produced a firearm and shot Deputy Davila in the leg. Deputy Davila and Alvin McBride went down on the floor where the struggle continued.

Deputy Davila drew his weapon and fatally shot Alvin McBride.

Alvin McBride was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputy Davila was transported to an area hospital but was released Sunday afternoon.

Deputy Jesus Davila has been a member of the Sheriff’s Department since October 2007.

In 2012, he was recognized for his efforts in saving a man's life on the side of the road with another deputy.

The man was having medical problems and Deputy Davila, along with Deputy Augustine Gonzalez performed CPR on the man on the road near Valencia and Mission Roads until emergency personnel could arrive and take the man to the hospital.
