Police make arrest in shooting death of 38-year-old man

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Tucson Police arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with the shooting death of a man earlier this month.

Sgt. Maria Hawke with TPD tells KGUN9 that Samuel Beltran was arrested Thursday and charged with one count of first degree murder.

Police identified the victim of the shooting as 38-year-old Roger Catalan. 

Hawke they are still investigating the shooting, which occurred outside a home in the 1200 block of West Ontario on October 7.

Hawke said Catalan was hit when multiple shots were fired around 11:15 p.m. He was transported to a local area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

There were witnesses on the scene along with detectives from TPD’s Gang Unit.

Hawke says police may identify other people involved in this incident.
