Man arrested for abuse of 4-year-old
SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - Police arrested a 40-year-old man after a child was dropped off at daycare with signs of abuse.
Cpl. Scott Borgstadt with Sierra Vista Police tells KGUN9 that someone called police on March 18 to report that a child had been dropped off at daycare with two black eyes, bruising on the cheeks and bloodshot eyes.
The child was taken to a hospital in Tucson for treatment.
Detectives linked the abuse back to Charles Vass and arrested him for three counts of aggravated assault and one count of child abuse.
He was booked into the Cochise County Jail.
Borgstadt says the child's injuries are severe but there appears to be no long term damage.
