The first big test on gun control legislation will happen in the Senate today. It's expected to be a bipartisan win for the President. A dozen or more Republicans are planning to join with 50 Democrats to shut down a GOP filibuster blocking debate on the bill, that would require universal background checks.
A passerby spotted a woman's body off a busy stretch of road late yesterday. Police found the body near Foothills Mall at Ina and La Cholla. Deputies say that they body looks like it had been there for a long time, but there's still no leads on who she might be. {full story}



A state of war between North and South Korea is imminent this morning. The North has now positioned its missile launchers on its east coast. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel warns that North Korea is "skating very close to a dangerous line." Intelligence warns that a missile test could now happen at any time.


A 20-year-old man accused of stabbing over a dozen people at a Houston, Texas community college is making his first court appearance this morning. Dylan Quick is facing three counts of aggravated assault in the attack.
