PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say two high school students in Apache Junction have been disciplined for bullying a junior high student on a school bus.

ABC15 News in Phoenix reports the 13-year-old victim was burned when the bullies used lighters to heat up erasers and touch the student on the arms and neck.

The Cactus Canyon Junior High School student reported the incident to his assistant principal on March 7. Apache Junction Unified School District officials say the two offenders were disciplined, but won't say what the punishment was.

The Apache Junction Police Department says a criminal investigation is under way. A police report has been forwarded to Pinal County's juvenile prosecutor.

The Associated Press generally does not identify juvenile victims or juvenile suspects in alleged crimes.
