Tucson, AZ (KGUN9-TV)- It's almost that time to wrap up the Girl Scout cookie season.
Girl Scout cookie fans will have till Sunday, March 3rd to purchase their favorite cookies and donate boxes of cookies to military troops over seas.
“On behalf of the Girl Scouts we want to give a big thank you to the Tucson community for their support during the 2013 Cookie sales,” said Debbie Rich, Chief Executive Officer, Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona.
Customers can find these tasty treats at a Girl Scout booth located at various locations, including grocery stores, such as Fry's, Safeway and Walmart, and Bookmans, Walgreens, Loews, and Vantage West Credit Union. The weekend of March 2nd and 3rd, booths will be located at Tucson and Park Place Mall.
If you happen to be over filled with cookies, you can share your boxes by participating in the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona "Troop by Troop" program, which will give military troops a chance to enjoy these cookies.
“This program has become a special component of our annual cookie sales. We are teaching our girls not only about the importance of giving back but also the impact we can make when we bring our community together for a cause,” said Rich. “During this year’s cookie sales I’ve had many individuals reach out to me sharing their stories of support through the Troop to Troop program. We have local civilians donating cookie boxes and also active duty military members here in Tucson getting involved.”
