School placed on lock down while PCSD searched for suspects
TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The Pima County Sheriff Department is still searching for three men after a chase on Thursday morning.
Deputy Tom Peine tells KGUN9 that around 11 a.m., a deputy in the 4200 block of North Flowing Wells came up on a suspicious vehicle. The deputy ran the plates and found they were not valid for highway use.
The deputy turned on his lights to initiate a traffic stop, but the suspect vehicle with three Hispanic males inside fled from the deputy.
The car drove between a telephone and house wall and hit chain link fence, causing serious damage to vehicle. When the car broke through, the three men jumped out and ran from the scene.
Deputies searched the area, but all three suspects still on loose.
Peine tells KGUN9 that deputies recovered weapons and a boxer puppy from the car.
Homer Davis Elementary was placed on temporary lock-down as precaution.
