Traffic information for El Tour this weekend

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The annual El Tour de Tucson kicked off at around 7:00 a.m. Saturday for the 30th year and the City of Tucson wants to remind everyone about road closures during the race.
The city says businesses, parking garages and parking lots will stay open and accessible.
Starting at 6 p.m. on Friday-
- Sixth Avenue will remain closed between 12th and 13th Streets until late afternoon on Saturday
Starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday-
- Sixth Avenue will be closed from 13th Street to 22nd Street
- Westbound 22nd Street from Arizona Avenue to Mission Road
- Eastbound I-10 frontage road will be closed between Cushing Street and 22nd Street
The closed roads will reopen late Saturday after the last rider has returned to the finish line.
Access to downtown is available from the north by using Stone Avenue or Sixth Avenue, from the east by using Broadway Boulevard or Aviation Parkway, from the south by using Euclid Avenue and turning left on Broadway Boulevard, or from the west by using 22nd Street to Euclid Avenue and turning left on Broadway Boulevard.

The city expects between 8,000 and 9,000 riders this weekend and motorists driving downtown can expect traffic delays associated with this event.
