TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - One week until the November election and some voters have found themselves in election education crunch time.

Tuesday, GEICO employees working at the Tucson headquaters, got a crash course from the candidates directly as the company hosted it's annual Candidate's Open House.

"Its awesome because obviously you would get to address concerns that you have that you typically would not be able to ask otherwise," GEICO employee Yvonne Arvizo said.

Federal, state and local candidates turned out for the open house, organized at one central location.

It's a great opportunity for us to talk about why we're running and answer questions from people who are hopefully going to be our constituents," said Democratic Congressional District 2 candidate, Ron Barber.

"I think it's important that they're able to answer that question personally and look you in the eye and get an answer from the candidate directly," Pima County Sheriff Republican candidate, Mark Napier said.

Arvizo says she's surprised at how many candidates attended the event, "They're here in person so why not ask the questions that are burning inside," Arvizo said.

Arvizo says she realizes the open house offers a unique opportunity, and the candidates realize it too.
