TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A 47-year-old security guard was arrested Wednesday after police found thousands of computer files at his home depicting the sexual exploitation of minors.
Sgt. Chris Widmer with Tucson Police tells KGUN9 that Mitchell Beiro was booked into the Pima County Jail for 15 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, after an investigation that began last year.
During the investigation, detectives found a computer in the Tucson area that had been sharing files depicting the sexual abuse of minors.
They were able to trace that computer to Beiro's home in the 2900 block of West Pincushion lane.
Police went to the home on Wednesday with a search warrant and found the thousands of files on his computer.
Detectives also learned that Beiro was involved in a child molestation case in California.
Beiro is a security guard for a Tucson security company.
Police are concerned that there may be additional unreported cases in Tucson and California.
Anyone with information regarding other cases Beiro might be involved in is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
