TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A U.S. Postal Service Branch in Tucson was cited for potential injuries when an untrained supervisor used an industrial truck to move mail.

Officials with the U.S. Department of Labor tell KGUN9 that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration cited the branch at 1501 S. Cherrybell Stravenue when the untrained supervisor exposed other employees to potential injuries by operating the truck.

The truck requires someone to be trained and certified to operate it, and two of the three certified truck operators did not report for their shift, leading the untrained supervisor to use the truck.

The proposed penalty for the safety violation is $70,000.

The U.S. Postal Service has 15 business days to comply with the citation.
