LONDON (Arizona Athletics) University of Arizona Wildcat current student-athletes and a volunteer assistant coach competed on Monday in London’s Olympic Stadium.

Georganne Moline competed in the semifinal of the women’s 400-meter hurdles while Julie Labonté and volunteer assistant coach Jill Camarena-Williams competed in the preliminary round of the women’s shot put.

Moline clocked a time of 54.74 in heat three of the 400-meter hurdles, taking second place and automatically qualifying for the final. She had the seventh-best time overall. Moline will return to the track on Wednesday, August 8th at 12:45 p.m. MST.

In the shot put, Camarena-Williams had a toss of 59-9.5 (18.22m). That mark was not enough for Camarena-Williams to advance to the final, she finished in 16th place overall. Camarena-Williams suffered a back injury and her ability to perform was significantly affected by the injury. Current student-athlete Julie Labonté finished in 23rd place overall, posting a mark of 57-4.25 (17.48m). She did not advance either.

“I hurt myself this last week, and I haven’t been able to practice pretty much the whole time I’ve been in England,” Camarena-Williams said. “It’s been a rough go, but I just wanted to go out and try my hardest, and that is what I did.”
