TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Chicken fried steak and eggs, the cowboy omelet, world famous pancakes.  Does that sound good?   It's been a well kept secret among truck drivers for years.  Now we take you behind the counter at Omar's Hi Way Restaurant inside the TTT Truck Stop.  They've been in business for decades and despite bad economies, they're still standing.

Right off of I-10 is a tasty Tucson treasure.  The Triple T Truck Stop has been in business since 1954.

Customers tell us, "We have been coming here for so many years.  The waitresses have watched our kids grow up."  Others say, "About 40 years off and on."

Everyday truck drivers looking for a good meal at a good price already know about this place and its popularity has caught on.

Chris Miracle says " Here at the Triple T they go trough 1000 eggs in one shift that makes a million a month".

One of Omar's most popular dishes is the I-10 belly buster one patron tries to finish the whole thing.

Chris Miracle asked, "The belly buster ? How many pancakes is that? Just two but there is also sausage bacon and eggs , then I still have the hash browns to finish.. You gonna be able to finish that ? Yeah."

The atmosphere is similar to the feeling of your grandmas house and everybody here is family

Ed Mills talks about his favorite server, "Annie she has been here for over god over thirty years I call her sis she's like a little sister to me."

And Annie knows her customers and her regulars, " they are my regulars on Tuesday she gets either scrambled eggs and ham light hash browns."

Omar the head chef explains the attraction and history,  " They have drivers that have been coming here and their kids come in here and then their kids come in so there's generations of people that come in to eat the great food and be part of the history of this operation."

You can visit Omar's Hi-Way Restaurant at TTT at 5451 E. Benson Highway, Tucson, AZ (520) 574-8930.
