TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Two men were arrested and charged with felonies related to the theft of an estimated several hundred pounds of insulated copper wiring from a local retail building currently under construction.
According to the Tucson Police Department, 39-year-old Sean Heinemann and 33-year-old Thomas Boscia were arrested and each charged with one count of Burglary and Possession of Burglary Tools.
Tucson Police officers responded to a concerned citizen's call reporting suspicious activity in the 6300 block of East Broadway Boulevard at approximately 11:34 p.m. on April 2.
The officers observed a pickup and sport-utility vehicle leaving the business lot and stopped both vehicles.
The officers found a significant quantity of insulated copper wiring in the bed of the pickup, along with items identified as those commonly used for stealing metal and wiring in both vehicles.
Further investigation revealed that the subjects had cut through the security fence surrounding the businesses that are currently being renovated. They proceeded to extract the wiring, which was accessed through an electrical panel box.
