PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona House Ethics Committee will meet Tuesday to further consider fellow legislators' complaint against Rep. Daniel Patterson.
The meeting is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. That's also the deadline for the Tucson independent to file any response to a report submitted last week by House-hired investigators who are recommending his expulsion.
The original complaint against Patterson stems from domestic violence allegations made by his ex-girlfriend, but the investigators' report also concluded that his behavior at the House has left some lawmakers fearful.
Patterson has denied wrongdoing and says he's not a threat to anyone at the Capitol.
He has pleaded not guilty in Tucson city court to misdemeanor charges related to incidents involving his ex-girlfriend.
Patterson was elected as a Democrat but he recently changed his registration to independent.
