Brewer picks 2 members to Ariz. Board of Regents

PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona Board of Regents is getting two new members.
Gov. Jan Brewer appointed Dr. Ram Krishna of Yuma and attorney-lobbyist Greg Patterson of Scottsdale to eight-year terms on the board that oversees the state university system.
Krishna is an orthopedic surgeon, while Patterson is a former legislator and a former director of the state Residential Utility Consumer Office.  Patterson is also known in political circles for his blog,
Their appointments are subject to confirmation by the Arizona Senate.
Krishna will replace former legislator Bob McLendon on the board, while Patterson will replace attorney Ernest Calderon. Their terms expired in January.
