TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A hot air balloon struck power lines as it attempted to land in a field in Avra Valley Friday morning. Two of nine people in the balloon's basket were hospitalized for treatment for minor burns resulting from melted balloon materials falling on them, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Traffic at the intersersection of North Trico Road and West Trico Marana road was closed for repair crews to check the power lines. Minor power outrages were reported in Marana and Dove Mountain.

The FAA says it expects to release a preliminary report of the incident within 1-2 weeks. No names of the pilot or those who were hurt were immediately available.
