BP agents disrupt three incidents of smuggling

PIMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents disrupted three incidents of smuggling in the West Desert yesterday, seizing approximately 3,400 pounds of marijuana.

According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Ajo agents first found 25 bundles of marijuana on a mountainside. The bundles weighed 1,036 pounds estimated at a worth of $518,000.
In Lukeville, Ariz., agents found 11 bundles of marijuana dumped in a wash. The bundles estimated a worth of $267,500, weighing in at 535 pounds.

Agents then found one abandoned bundle in the desert, leading them to a stolen Ford F-150 in the area. The truck had 79 bundles of marijuana hidden inside. The bundles weighed in at 1,864 pounds valued at $932,000.

The combined seizures total value is $1.7 million.
