Last week we marveled at Blake Shelton (and his oh-so-stylish mullet) and this week we remember the woman who would become Mrs. Blake Shelton in 2011. Eight years before her wedding, as a hopeful performer on the first season of "Nashville Star," Miranda Lambert took third place. Less than two years later, she released her debut album, "Kerosene," which entered Billboard's Top Country Albums chart at No. 1, just as all three of her albums after it have since accomplished.

The video above is Miranda's performance of "Greyhound Bound for Nowhere." The somber story of a woman having an affair with a married man, the tune was among those included on "Kerosene," which would eventually go on to sell over one million copies. Not bad for a third-place finish!

Miranda Lambert, "Greyhound Bound for Nowhere" 5 Fun Facts:

1. Miranda wrote this song with her dad, private investigator Rick Lambert.

2. "Nashville Star" season 5 seventh-place finisher, Kacey Musgraves, also from Texas, would go on to co-write "Mama's Broken Heart," a platinum-selling hit for Miranda in 2013.

3. Although there is (coincidentally) a tiny town in Oklahoma called Nowhere, Greyhound has no buses that actually go there.

4. In 2010, Miranda was nominated for a French Country Music Award.

5. This song was not released as one of the four singles from "Kerosene." The album's title track was the only one from the disc to reach the Top 20.
