Florida Georgia Line Cheerios cereal boxes coming to your breakfast table
Sharing breakfast time with Florida Georgia Line just got a little easier. The duo is about to be seen on millions of Cheerios cereal boxes in an effort to raise funds and public awareness for Outnumber Hunger, the national campaign to provide meals to people in need.
As a partnership between the Big Machine Label Group and Feeding America, the nonprofit group that funds food banks throughout the U.S., other acts on the label, including Eli Young Band, Cassadee Pope, Brantley Gilbert and Thomas Rhett, will have increased visibility thanks to the campaign, making it a winning situation all around.
"When you look at the needs of a project like this and an initiative like this, one of the things we identified from the beginning [was] instead of focusing on one artist, why not work with the whole label group and look how much ground we can cover?" Big Machine President and CEO Scott Borchetta tells the Tennessean. Outnumber Hunger has previously used Big Machine's Rascal Flatts and the Band Perry in their campaign efforts, which provided more than 25 million meals to Americans.
To participate, consumers can purchase General Mills products, then enter a code and their ZIP code at outnumberhunger.com. The company then donates 56 cents to the nearest food bank, with a maximum total donation of $1.2 million. (Watch the video above to learn more.)
