  • Fallen Lyrid I went out to shoot the Lyrid meteor shower early this morning, and was treated with one of the most beautiful shooting stars I've ever seen. It was as if a flare was set off and a fireball fell from heaven - I could literally see the fragments of the meteor peeling off as it descended. And I'm so happy I was exposing my camera in that exact direction when witnessing this beautiful site. I hope you like it! :) Cheers Location:Tucson, Arizona, USA Canon 5D mkIII | 24mm | f2.8 | 20" | ISO 6400 | Single Image Processed in Lightroom and Photoshop Prints for sale in the "Astrophotography / Night" folder: prints.dylanmartinphoto.com Dylan Martin Photography

  • This spring I put out this bowl with water for the birds around my apartment. The fire extinguisher box seemed a nice safe place for them. A couple of doves kept coming around and when the water dried up they built a nest. They had two eggs. Once the fledglings flew away, I removed the bowl but another couple kept coming around... • Hi--Back on March 9, the newspaper had a story about all the wildflower blooms along Gates Pass road. We went there that day and took a lot of photos, but one of the last ones was the best. The photo was originally to show all the yellow wildflowers on the hillside across from the road. When we stopped to take the photo I saw the old saguaro in the shape of a cross. Took the photo to include the 'Old Rugged Cross' and am attaching it for you Easter pleasure. Bob Pillsbury, Tucson Estates
