Police find injured woman from SUV
Wichita police have found a 17-year-old girl who jumped from a moving vehicle early Monday in the northeast part of the city. Witnesses reported seeing the girl, who appeared to be injured and crying, and they reported that the driver forced her back into the Ford SUV she had been riding in. This happened near K-96 and Greenwich Road around 7:30 a.m.
Police lieutenant Joe Schroeder said officers found the vehicle later in the day, thanks to a tag number that was provided by a witness. He said the girl was not seriously injured, but her 43-year-old father was arrested in an unrelated case, for refusing to cooperate with an investigation. The father had been driving the SUV.
