Police catch driver after north Wichita chase
A 23-year-old man is facing a number of charges after a lengthy chase with police in north Wichita late Thursday night.
Lieutenant Doug Nolte said officers stopped a car for a traffic violation around 10 p.m. in the 1400 block of North Emporia, but the car then sped away. As officers chased the car, it struck three other vehicles, leaving two drivers with minor injuries. Nolte said the car also ran 24 stop signs and five red lights.
Officers finallly stopped the car in the 1500 block of North St. Francis and took the driver into custody. He was booked for reckless driving, evading officers, resisting police, unlawful possession of marijuana, and a number of traffic charges. Nolte said the man also had some outstanding warrants.
