A 57-year-old Wichita man says the panic button on his medic alert device saved him from a man and woman who attacked him at his home in the 800 block of S. Hydraulic.
The man told police he recognized a 30-year-old woman who came to his door at about 8 p.m. Wednesday, but he didn't know the man who was with her. He said the woman tried to hug him, which he through was too affectionate, so he pushed her away. That's when he says the man knocked him down, tased him and tried to force him to sell them some of his Lortab prescription pain killers.
The couple left when the victim pressed the medic alert button, which automatically prompts someone to call 911. He wasn't seriously hurt.
