Fresh snow causes more problems on area roads

Fresh snow causes more problems on area roads

It didn't take long for a fresh batch of snow to cause havoc on area roads and highways.

In Wichita, the most snow fell in the northwest part of the city - 4.5 inches of snow fell.

The most snow recorded was in Riverdale, in Sumner County, where 5 inches of snow fell. Cheney had 4 inches of fresh snow as well.

For the rest of the area, snowfall amounts were anywhere from a trace to 3 inches.

Again, several slide offs were reported all morning Monday, the snow caused a major delay for those heading to work, as speeds were down to 20 miles per hour at times.

Plenty of people could be found stuck in deep, drifting snowbanks.

For the rest of the day, we're expecting mostly cloudy skies, with the odd flurry here and there Monday night.

Things are going to turn around - we are expecting highs in the low 60s by the end of this weekend.
