Man burglarizes apartment, claims to be 'Jack Bauer'
David Stolte, 30, was arrested and charged with residential burglary after breaking into a Seattle couple's apartment and making an out-of-control mess. Stolte identified himself as "Jack Bauer," the Counter Terrorist Unit agent played by Kiefer Sutherland on Fox's television series "24."
According to KIRO 7, Derek Doerschel and his fiancee Danielle Green found "screens off their windows, kitty litter in the sink, food strewn all over the kitchen, a frozen pie in the oven and a frozen crab in the closet." In addition, "clothes were in the bathtub. Doerschel's credit cards had been removed from his wallet and were stuffed in a chocolate muffin."
Their peephole was the only personal object removed and missing.
Stolte was arrested soon after in an alley nearby. KIRO 7 further reports upon reviewing court documents that although Stolte has no logged criminal convictions "police [have] contacted him several times over the past few years for running around naked, climbing on roofs at Seattle Center naked, and even smashing a bus window in Oregon and lying in the middle of the road attempting to get run over."
Ria Quinton, Stolte's mother, hopes that this most recent break-in results in a breakthrough for her son's mental condition. Stoltes was supposedly on LSD during the burglary and he also takes medication for Bipolar disorder.
