The winter storm will definitely be unforgettable for one Philadelphia woman who gave birth on a snow sled as she tried to hurry to the hospital.
It was too slick for Shirley Kim Bonnani to walk to her car, and her contractions were also too quick and too strong for her to walk when she went into labor on Wednesday. So her husband, Fabian, used their toddler's snow sled to try and get Shirley to the car, which was parked at the bottom of a hill.
But, they didn't make it. Fabian, with the help of some neighbors and a 911 dispatcher, delivered the 7-pound, 9-ounce baby girl they named Bella.
Emergency medical technicians arrived just a few minutes later and took mom and baby to the hospital.
Both of them are doing fine and expected to go home in a few days.
