OKLAHOMA CITY (KFAQ) - In Oklahoma City, the Fraternal Order of Police says Mayor Mick Cornett has not shown up at their events and hasn't put more officers on the street. They made the comments on Twitter, prompting the mayor's office to respond by saying the accusations aren't true and the FOP is only making them as a political move.
FOP President John George says the mayor does not support them and over the past nine years the number of officers has gone down. George said, "our manpower is horrible. It's almost dangerously low."
Cornett denies he doesn't support the force, saying the city has added 70 officers over the past two years.
The FOP has already said they will be supporting a challenger in the upcoming race for mayor.
