Speaker taps 3 to oversee Okla. Capitol repairs
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - House Speaker T.W. Shannon has named three members to a commission to oversee a $120 million renovation of the state Capitol.
The Lawton Republican announced Wednesday the appointments of Chesapeake Oilfield Services CEO Jerry Winchester, former Claremore Republican state Rep. Tad Jones, and Norman Chamber of Commerce President John Woods to the Long-Range Capital Planning Commission.
Besides overseeing the Capitol overhaul, the nine-member commission is charged with developing an eight-year plan for the management of state buildings and assets.
The commission also will include three members each appointed by the governor and the Senate president pro tem. Those appointments have not yet been announced.
