Texas teen quotes 'Harry Potter' at memorial for parents, siblings

The brave 15-year-old girl who witnessed her family getting shot and killed in their Texas residence by her aunt's estranged husband spoke for the first time at a public memorial for her family on July 12.

While addressing the crowd, Cassidy Stay quoted "Dumbledore" from J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban." She said, "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light," accordint to CNN.

Police say 34-year-old Ron Haskell posed as a Federal Express driver to gain access to the Houston-area home. He then tied all of the victims up and shot them "execution-style" in the back of the head and left the scene. A bullet grazed Stay's skull, however, she pretended to be dead and then called 911 when Haskell left.

"The victims included Stay's parents, Stephen and Katie, as well as her 7- and 9-year-old sisters and 4- and 13-year-old brothers," details CNN. Her aunt was not in the home at the time.

According to CNN, "I know that my Mom, Dad, Brian, Emily, Becca and Zach are in a much better place, and that I will be able to see them again one day," Stay further said at the heartbreaking memorial.

When Stay alerted police of Haskell's shooting rampage, she told them that he was heading for her grandparents' home next.

"Without her courage and quick thinking, we might be mourning the deaths of 20 -- yes, I said 20 -- people today, including myself and nearly all of our children and grandchildren," Roger Lyon, Stay's grandfather, explains to CNN.

Haskell surrendered to police after a three-hour-long standoff. He will be charged for multiple counts of capital murder.
