FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Two men were discovered shot and killed early Saturday in Fort Myers.
Saturday afternoon police identified the victims as 33-year-old Deonte Redding of Fort Myers and 22-year-old Zachary Blue of Miami. The two men are brothers.
The Fort Myers Police Department says a caller reported shots fired in the area of the 1700 block of South Drive just after 3 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found two unidentified black men suffering from gunshot wounds inside a car. They were later pronounced dead.
Neighbors say they heard 7-10 gun shots followed by multiple cars leaving the scene.
"I was looking out and they were backing out of the driveway like a normal day, just casually backing up and leaving," neighbor Rob De St. Jean said.
The victims were identified as 33-year-old Deonte Redding of Fort Myers and 22-year-old Zachary Blue of Miami. The men are siblings.
Both men have been previously arrested in drug charges. Redding has been arrested a dozen times since 1999, most recently in February 2013 for various charges including cocaine possession.
Blue has been arrested in Miami-Dade on various charges including cocaine possession and robbery.
Neighbors say they are shocked this happened in such a quiet area.
"There's a lot of kids around here and the pool is over there and the playground and stuff. I walk around all the time and I never see anything like this," neighbor Don Gray said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). The Fort Myers Police Department is offering up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone who is responsible for any homicide in the city.
