Trio sought in Fort Myers Circle K robbery, shooting

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Fort Myers police are searching for a trio that staged a robbed a Circle K early Monday morning then shot a witness to their crime.

The robbery happened at 3:05 a.m. at 2634 Winkler Avenue where three black males entered the store brandishing firearms.  They ordered the clerk to the floor and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.

As the gunmen exited the business a newspaper delivery driver saw them get into a black Nissan four-door.

The delivery driver fled in his vehicle eastbound on Winkler Avenue while the robbers chased him and shot into his vehicle.  The delivery driver was hit and drove himself home where he called for an ambulance.  He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing at this time. Video surveillance from inside Circle K has been obtained and depicts the masked men during the robbery. Video surveillance also shows the black Nissan used during the crime.

Police are asking for the public to review the attached surveillance images. Anyone with information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the robbery suspects could be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
