CAPE CORAL, Fl. - The Cape Coral Fire Department is still investigating what caused a fire in a dumpster attached to a Bed, Bath and Beyond in Cape Coral.

The fire happening around 11 pm at the store on NE Pine Island Road in Cape Coral.

The Cape Fire Department says the cardboard inside the dumpster, which is attached to the building by a chute, caught fire, sending smoke into the store, setting off the alarm.

Fire crews fought the fire for three hours, as the cardboard was tightly packed in the dumpster.

Crews had to use a saw, and a tow truck, to remove the dumpster from the building to prevent any damage.

There were no injuries from the fire, and the building was not damaged.  We are told that the Bed, Bath and Beyond is expected to open at normal business hours today.
