FORT MYERS, Fla. - Fort Myers police are investigating a shooting that happened Monday morning that fortunately, resulted in no one getting hit by gunfire.

Police arrived at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Braman Avenue at 11:01 a.m. after receiving a shots fired call.

They arrived to find the victim who told police that a young man, possible white or Hispanic, fired a shot into the tailgate of his truck while he was driving east on Braman Avenue.

The victim was apparently trying to pass a group of people loitering in the middle of the street when someone in that group pulled a gun and fired the shot.  The suspect than ran off.

The suspect is further described as approximately 20 years of age, tall wearing a black tank top and tan colored shorts.
