Fort Myers police investigate attack

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Fort Myers police responded to a burglary call Friday morning at Gulf Stream Isles Apartments only to find that a woman had been attacked by a man claiming to be with the Department of Children and Families.

The victim told police that a man knocked on her door after 8 a.m. saying he was DCF and entered her apartment.  Then he attacked the woman who managed to break free and run out onto her balcony where she screamed for help.

The suspect is described as a white male, early to mid 30’s, with blonde hair, possibly a receding hair line. He was about 5’5”- 5’7”, wearing a purple dress shirt and khaki pants.
