FORT MYERS, Fla. - Sunday's game at Alico Arena boils down to one thing for FGCU, a win over Mercer and the Eagles will return to the NCAA Tournament.

FGCU takes a 22 and 11 record into the game against 25 and 8 Mercer, the team they shared the A-Sun regular season title.

Sunday's sellout 2 p.m. so for the unfortunate fans they can settle for watching the showdown on ESPN2.

The two squads split the regular season meeting with each team winning on their home court. Mercer posted a 68-55 victory on Jan. 23rd before FGCU returned the favor with a 75-61 triumph on Feb. 21st. The A-Sun Championship Final features six student-athletes that have tallied 1,000 points in their career as well as two of the best point guards in conference history; Brett Comer and Langston Hall.

Hall set the A-Sun career record for assists on Thursday against USC Upstate as he sits with 619 in his four-year Mercer career, while FGCU's Comer sits with 601 assists; third-most in league history. Both point guards have tallied 1,000 points in their career as Hall sits with 1,538 career points compared the Comer, a junior, with 1,045.

Should FGCU win, it would guarantee them a return to the NCAA tournament.  Last year's tournament run gave birth to the "Dunk City" moniker and a magical run to the Sweet 16.
