Collier detectives search for battery suspect

By FOX 4 Staff. CREATED Jan 31, 2014

NAPLES, Fla. - Collier County detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying a woman who pepper sprayed an employee at a T.J. Maxx store last December.

Detectives say two women were behaving suspiciously on December 16th at the store located at 5018 Airport-Pulling Road.  Around 8 p.m. a store employee approached the pair and offered assistance.

They declined the offer and shopped for another 30 minutes. At that point one of the women approached the employee they had encountered earlier and said, “Do you have a problem?” The employee replied, “No.” Seconds later the suspect sprayed the store employee in the face with pepper spray and fled.

A witness told deputies the women left the parking lot in a silver P.T. Cruiser.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Collier County Sheriff’s Office at (239) 252-9300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).
