Cape police bust mobile meth lab

CAPE CORAL, Fla. - A routine check of a suspicious vehicle landed Cape Coral police a mobile meth lab Thursday.

Officers asked to check a vehicle parked in a field near NW 18th Avenue and NW 27th Terrace found two men sitting in it.  They also spotted a meth-pipe laying in plain sight on the passenger seat.

Police say 32-year-old Keith Mitchell Lakin admitted the pipe was his and that he used it to smoke methamphetamine. 

Officers searched the vehicle for additional narcotics and paraphernalia.  They discover a "one pot" meth lab and numerous items used to make the drug under Lakin's seat.

Field tests on the meth oil was in the mobile lab which yielded a positive result for methamphetamine and a total weight of 31.5 ounces.

Lakin was arrested for manufacturing and trafficking in methamphetamine.
