CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Two juvenile girls have been arrested for breaking into a van last week in Southeast Cape Coral.

Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers announced the arrests over the weekend.
According to detectives, surveillance cameras captured images of the two suspects walking up to two cars parked at a SE 8th Street home at 1:53 a.m. on June 2nd.

After trying to gain access to one car, which was locked, the women turned their efforts to a second car in the driveway, which was unlocked.  Both women rummaged through the van, taking a purse, wallet, cash, gift cards and other miscellaneous items.

While one of the women was still searching the car, her partner in crime noticed the surveillance camera attached to the home, at which point both women left on foot.

They were both seen standing at a nearby intersection, going through the purse and dumping items on the ground, while placing others into a backpack.  A neighbor found some of the stolen items, however the cash and gift cards were taken by the two thieves.

FOX 4 does not identify juvenile criminal suspects.
