NAPLES, Fla. - Naples police are investigating a body discovered on the beach.  The discovery was made this morning just off Seagate Drive.

According to Police, a person running on the beach spotted the body around 6:29 a.m.

The Naples Police Department identifies the man as 67-year-old Ranieri Briganti from Naples. Police tell FOX 4 News that Briganti was found nude and face down in the sand this morning.

"I came down to the beach and I saw yellow tape in a square and I think three policemen," said Kristi Bailey. She was on a walk this morning when she saw police activity at the far east part of the beach.

She's vacationing at the neighboring Waldorf Astoria hotel. Managers at the luxury resort remained cautious as the death investigation plays out.

The safety of our guests is the most important thing ever, so yes we are very concerned," said Hunter Hensen, manager at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

While police have not identified a specific cause of death, they do not believe that foul play was involved.
