PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Charlotte County deputies arrested a 29-year-old Port Charlotte woman for stealing items from WalMart and Publix.

Investigators say Jessica Rae English went to a Deep Creek area WalMart almost two weeks ago, filled a cart with items and tried to leave the store without paying.  A clerk asked for a receipt and English said she didn't need to show one and left the store.

Security stopped her and she fled after her purse strap broke spilling numerous sales receipts and other identification.  English tried to steal $61 worth of items.

Then on Tuesday English went into the Publix at 19451 Cochran Boulevard and security saw her pushing a shopping cart with two reusable WalMart bags, selecting various items and putting them in the bags. Security then saw English pull out an old Publix receipt and pushed the cart past all points of sale but was stopped outside with $50 worth of items.

At that time it was learned that this was the same woman, English, who was wanted in the Jan. 17 WalMart theft.  English was taken to the Charlotte County Jail where she posted bond was was released.
