CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. - The Board of County Commissioners will conduct an emergency meeting to discuss Tropical Storm Isaac this Friday.
The meeting started at 2 p.m. in Room 119, Charlotte County Administration Center, 18500 Murdock Circle, Port Charlotte, Florida, to consider approval of a Resolution declaring a state of local emergency; and for discussion of other governmental meeting cancellations due to possible excessive rainfall and flooding from Hurricane Isaac.
Charlotte County officials are giving the community a heads up regarding the removal of all temporary signs, banners, flutter flags and any other type of removable sign. The signs must come down if the county is placed under a Tropical Storm or Hurricane Warning.
Charlotte County officials are also warning that unlicensed contractors could face felony charges if the Governor declares a State of Emergency.
