FORT MYERS, Fla. - Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan making a whirlwind 24 hour campaign trip to SWFL in the dead of summer to help Chauncy Goss in his bid to come out on top of the crowded 19th Congressional District race.

"Chauncy is the kind of leader we need in Washington to get this country back on track," said Ryan.

The race is crowded with 6 candidates.  2 area state reps - Paige Kreegal and Gary Aubuchon, radio talk show host Trey Radel, lawyer Joe Davidow, and finance portfolio manager Byron Donalds.  A few months back, Goss was also endorsed by Jeb Bush.

"Our campaign is gaining momentum,' said Goss.

Goss is the son of former SWFL Congressman and former CIA Director Porter Goss.  He is the only candidate who is listed on the ballot with a middle name.  Chancy's middle name is his father's first name.

"You are the only one that has your middle name on the ballot.  Do you think that will help you because it's your father's first name?," asked Fox 4 Reporter John Rupolo.

"I dont know," said Goss.

Goss used to work for Ryan as his Deputy Budget Director.  Ryan now chairs the House Budget Committee in Washington.  His name has been kicked around as a possible running mate to Mitt Romney,.

"I have no comment on that," said Ryan,
