Port Charlotte man arrested after Oxycodone purchases

PORT CHARLOTTE--- Charlotte County Sheriff's Narcotics detectives arrested a Port Charlotte man after three Oxycodone drug purchases.

This is his 18th booking. Arrested on 10 charges was 26 year old Merritt Paul Engle.

Narcotics detectives purchased Oxycodone from Engle on Feb.1 at an undisclosed location, then on Feb. 21 at his home, and Thursday in the parking lot of Town Center Mall.

Once 10 pills were exchange for $250, Engle was arrested and transported to the Charlotte County Jail.

Engle, a convicted felon, is charged with three counts each of Sale and Delivery of Oxycodone, Possession of Oxycodone, and Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia. He remains in jail on no bond as he was on active felony probation and charged with Violation of Probation.
