A news crew for FOX 43 WPMT in Central Pennsylvania got a little more than they bargained for when covering a story about a local haunted house.
The home is located in Hanover in York County and was featured on the show "The Dead Files" on the Travel Channel in July.
The news crew -- a photojournalist and reporter -- went to the home to do a feature piece on the homeowner and the house in advance of the Travel Channel show. They didn't expect to become part of the story.
Homeowner DeAnna Simpson says the house is haunted by multiple ghosts and possibly demons. She and her husband did not find that out until after they moved in. Simpson claims that there are at least five ghosts in the house and she has photographs and audio recordings of voices, children laughing, and dogs barking that were not in the house.
During the interview, photojournalist Nick Petrillo felt a burning sensation on his hand and then saw a scratch on his wrist. Simpson explained that it was because the ghosts or demons did not want the TV crew to tell the story.
Reporter Katie Kyros also claimed that she was touched and pinched during the tour of the haunted house. She also says that they saw strange lights and heard noises. Additionally, the news crew saw orbs and what appears to be a shadowy hand on cellphone video taken in their presence.
Petrillo, who says he was very skeptical going into the house, admitted later that he is now a believer after their ghostly experience.
