MSU Food Truck Wins Award

A signature item on MSU's Eat at State food truck menu now has some pretty impressive honors to back it up.

The smoked cheddar cheeseburger was given the gold award by the "National Association of College and University Food Services" because of its locally-grown ingredients.

The beef is raised on campus, the cheese comes from the Dairy Store, and the greens are from MSU's student organic farm.

The chef is thrilled with the award.

"It was something I wanted to create, a signature item, something our guests would really enjoy, something people could have more than once or twice or three times. The idea of locals trying to utilize some of the great products we have here at MSU in our community is what really fueled the drive toward figuring out this burger."

The Eat at State food truck has been up and running for about ten months now. The chef tells us the burger is its number one seller.

Our photographer, Dave Jones, would agree. He did a taste test for us and said it was delicious.
