John Gaboury Recommended as a New MSU Associate Provost

John Gaboury has been recommended as Michigan State University associate provost for academic services, effective Nov. 1. He is serving as a consultant as he transitions to his new role.

Gaboury has been at the University of Toledo since 2002, where he served most recently as executive director for learning ventures and online learning since 2010. His previous appointments include chief information officer at William Paterson University, dean of libraries at Mississippi State University and university librarian at Radford University.

Gaboury earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of Florida, master’s degree from Florida State University and doctorate from the University of Massachusetts.

The associate provost for academic services provides leadership for a number of units, including admissions, financial aid, the registrar’s office and MSU Libraries.

Gaboury succeeds Linda Stanford, who has served in the position since 2002 and is retiring in 2015.
