College Welcomes 11 New Faculty Members

New faculty members are the lifeblood of any college that aims to remain innovative. They bring new ideas and fresh approaches that help College of Communication Arts and Sciences (CAS) stay on the cutting edge of the communication arts and sciences. Academic year 2014-2015 will see the largest influx of new faculty in the history of CAS. Fourteen new faculty members will arrive during the new academic year.
I am happy to welcome 11 new faculty members this fall and three more in spring 2015. We are excited to have these amazing and talented individuals join the CAS community. The following list is just a brief introduction to our new colleagues. CAS News will provide more information about each of the new faculty members during the fall.
New faculty who will start this month include:
Gary Bente, Professor, Department of Communication
Steve Beswick, Artist in Residence, Sandbox
William Dutton, Professor and Director of the Quello Center, Department of Media and Information
Young Eun Lee, Assistant Professor, Department of Media and Information
Stacey Fox, Instructor, School of Journalism
Joanne Gerstner, Instructor, School of Journalism
Amanda Hampton Wray, Assistant Professor, Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders
Kenneth Levine, Visiting Associate Professor, Department of Communication
Jingbo Meng, Assistant Professor, Department of Communication
Brandon Van Der Heide, Assistant Professor, Department of Communication
Tai Woo Park, Assistant Professor, Department of Media and Information
The two new faculty members who will join the college in January are:
Patricia Leidl, Instructor, Department of Advertising + Public Relations and School of Journalism
Eduardo Nakasone, Assistant Professor with a joint appointment in the Department of Media and Information and the Department of Agriculture, Food and Resource Economics
Of course, the final member of the new faculty list is Prabu David, who will arrive on January 1 as the new dean of CAS. Professor David will hold a joint appointment in the Department of Media and Information and the Department of Communication.
