BWL Toy Mill Kicks Off Toys for Tots on Friday
BWL is proud to kick off the opening of their Toy Mill this Friday as a part of the Silver Bells Festival in Lansing.
LANSING — The Lansing Board of Water and Light is proud to announce the official opening of their Toy Mill this Friday, November 22 in downtown Lansing, as part of the Silver Bells in the City festivities.
The BWL Toy Mill serves as the backdrop for the annual Toys for Tots campaign, which is coordinated by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve of Lansing. Marines will be on hand to collect unwrapped toy donations for the Toys for Tots program, from noon until 9:00 p.m. during the Silver Bells in the City celebration.
All donated toys are given to local charities, who will then distribute them to less fortunate children in the greater Lansing area.
Lansing BWL General Manager J. Peter Lark will accept the first toys for the annual toy drive at a press conference beginning at 12:00 p.m. Lark will be joined by City of Lansing Chief Operating Officer Chad Gamble. Following a short press conference, cast members from Riverwalk Theater’s “White Christmas” will perform musical excerpts from the show for all attendees.
The BWL Toy Mill is the traditional collection site for the Toys for Tots campaign during Silver Bells in the City, which begins at 5 p.m. in downtown Lansing. The 29th Annual Silver Bells in the City is made possible through the support of many generous area sponsors, including Presenting Sponsor, the Lansing Board of Water and Light.
