Poll Finds Dead Heat in Gubernatorial Race, Peters Leads Land in Senate Race
Governor Rick Snyder and Mark Schauer are starting their general election campaign in a dead heat according to a poll released Wednesday.
Marketing Resource Group has the Governor leading by three-tenths of a point among likely voters, 44.6% to 44.3%. 11% of voters still haven't made up their minds. The same poll had the Governor up 8 points in March.
The poll also found a big turnaround in the race for Michigan's open U.S. Senate seats. Republican Terri Lynn Land led Democrat Gary Peters by 2 points in March. Peters is up almost 7 now, 46.7% to 40% with 13.3% of voters undecided.
Both polls surveyed 600 likely voters and have a margin of error or +/- 4%.
